• Route setting

The bouldering experience at GRIP is all about puzzles. Our professional route-setting team creates boulders that are both physically and mentally challenging, with interesting moves, intricate beta, and the ultimate reward when you solve the problem!

Our goal is always to offer a great range of boulders that challenges you and helps you develop as a climber. Expect traditional boulders with small edges, modern dynamic boulders on big holds, intricate slabs that require balance and precise footwork, complex three-dimensional boulders, and tricky mantels. Basically, we have everything you need to challenge yourself and have fun!

    Route setting at GRIP

To understand our route setting schedule, you should first be familiar with our grading system. At GRIP, the colour of the holds represents the difficulty of the boulder, with green being the easiest (from 3a) and black being the hardest (up to 8b).

    • Every Monday, we reset one colour/grade in the Main area, the Wave, and Atlantis (check TopLogger for the name of the walls)
    • Every Wednesday, we reset one of our Black Boards or a section in the Arena.
    • Every Friday, we reset one colour/grade in the West Wing.

After big competitions, we’ll dedicate a setting day to fill up with different colours. To stay updated on our route setting, follow us on social media or check our info screen at the gym (by the check-in).
