GRIP was founded as a rope climbing gym in 1997. We soon added a small bouldering area, but it wasn’t until 2016 that we moved to our current location and fully transformed into a dedicated bouldering gym. Our goal was clear: to create the best possible bouldering gym—one we wish existed when we first started bouldering.
To achieve this, we had to be pioneers in an underdeveloped sport and figure out how to offer premium boulders for climbers of all levels. So, we put in enormous effort in designing the gyms’ walls, ensuring a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and angles for every style of bouldering. We didn’t want GRIP to be just a training ground for outdoor climbers to get stronger or a space that only catered to higher grades. We wanted GRIP to be a place where anyone can develop as a climber; where beginners can learn on lower grades and not just climb ladders of holds, where advanced climbers are challenged in all styles of bouldering, and where people can share their passion with a community of like-minded people.
Since then, GRIP has continued to expand, adding many new walls, an updated training area, a dedicated youth climbing area, and much more. We’ll continue to develop and stay at the forefront of the sport to ensure you have the best possible experience every time you visit GRIP!
